EASY GLAZED HAM
Ingredients
1 Boneless cured/smoked ham (1/4 lb per person)
1 jar LaChoy Sweet 'n Sour Sauce
1/2 c. Pineapple juice
2 tbsp. Corn starch, dissolved in 3-4 tbsp. water
1/4 tsp. Fresh ground nutmeg
14.5 oz. can Chunk pineapple, on toothpicks
1 Small jar of maraschino cherries on toothpicks
Parsley sprigs
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F
Place ham on a rack in a roasting pan. Put about 1/2" of water in the bottom of the pan.
In a medium sauce pan, mix together sweet 'n sour sauce, pineapple juice, and nutmeg.
Heat to simmering, the add dissolved corn starch one teaspoon at a time, until sauce begins to thicken. Keep stirring or lumps will form!
Continue simmering while stirring, adding more corn starch as needed, until sauce almost becomes a paste.
Remove from heat, and immediate brush glaze all over ham.
Garnish ham with pineapple chunks and cherries.
Bake ham - uncovered - until meat thermometer reads 150F at center.
Remove ham and let rest 15 minutes, tented with foil.
Remove cherries and pineapple chunks.
Slice as desired, and place on serving platter, garnished with cherries, pineapple and parsley sprigs.
HINT: Soak toothpicks in water overnight so they will not burn.
The ridiculously uncomplicated glazed ham is perfect for festive occasions and holidays, particularly Christmas and Easter.
